Afternoon Tamar River Cruise - Depart Home Point and cruise into the spectacular Cataract Gorge. Continue 20 kms on down
river past Tamar Island, Freshwater Point, the vineyards to Windermere and Rosevears. Enjoy commentary on the history, wildlife
and points of interest.

Glow worms, Devils and Bees – Discover the natural wonders found beneath the Great Western Tiers. Stroll through lush
rainforest before exploring the unique Marakoopa Cave. This limestone cave is home to glow-worms featuring spectacular
stalactites, stalagmites and two underground streams. Experience the closeness of our famous Tasmanian devil at the
Trowunna Wildlife and Tasmanian Devil Education Centre. Then learn of the Tasmanian honey story while treating yourself to a
homemade icecream at the Chudleigh Honey Farm before returning to Launceston.

Full Day Cradle Mountain - Awaken your senses to the magnificent splendour that is Cradle Mountain. Go deep into the

the craggy outcrop of majestic Cradle Mountain towering above sparkling Dove Lake plateau.

MELBOURNE/DEVONPORT
DAY ONE
Arrive Launceston airport and pick up a hire car.
Woolmers Estate - Reflects colonial Tasmania in its most genuine state. Regarded as Australia's most significant colonial
property, its collection of buildings, antique cars, photographs, art and furniture display a remarkable journey from the first
Thomas Archer, who settled the property in 1817, to the present day.
Cataract Gorge – Take a walk in the wilderness in the city! Walk along a rushing river through a dramatic rocky gorge surrounded
by beautiful natural bushland.
DEVONPORT/EAST COAST
DAY TWO
Travel to Bicheno via the North East and Scottsdale, stopping at the Sideling Lookout with its panoramic views over rich, fertile
farmlands towards Bass Strait.
Stop at the Welborough Pass to explore ancient myrtle rainforest. Taste award winning cheeses at Pyengana then take the short
walk to see the magnificent St Columba Falls
Travelling further South will take you to St Helens the largest town on the east coast and well known its wonderful beaches, huge
sand dunes, good fishing and lovely scenery, both on the coast and inland. The town, a fishing port, is sheltered by Georges Bay.
The bay is formed by St Helens Point, a long headland, 1,066 hectares of which is reserved as a recreation area.

DAY THREE
Wineglass Bay – Take the walk to the lookout over Wineglass Bay which was voted as one of the top ten beaches in the world,
the bay’s perfect curve of white sand complimented by the blue sea forms a stunning picture.
Kate’s Berry Farm - One of Tasmanias little treasures is Kate’s Berry Farm with a view clear across Great Oyster Bay to The
Hazards range. From spring to autumn, fresh raspberries, strawberries and others picked the same day are available, and at any
time of year you can buy ice cream, jams and even wine made from the berries. As well as a straight strawberry dry table wine,
the strawberry-riesling blend is a big hit
Head south from Swansea winding down through the beautiful East to Orford.. Laze, stroll, paddle, swim or surf at beautiful
Shelley or Spring Beach. Walk the clifftop track from East Shelley to Spring Beach for superb sea and island views. Lunch on
superb east coast seafood with friendly locals at the popular Orford fish and chip shop before sampling the wines of Darlington
Vineyard, overlooking Maria Island.
Port Arthur Ghost Tour - Bring a jacket and a steady nerve for a ghost tour of Port Arthur Historic Site by night. Your guide will lead
the way with a lantern and tell the chilling stories of apparitions and strange occurrences that have happened in this prison in a
park, where 12,500 convicts languished between 1830 and 1877. But your guide will not be able to explain everything.

DAY FOUR
Eaglehawk Neck Coastal features – marvel at the unusual formations such as the Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Blowhole and
Tessellated Pavement.
Port Arthur Historic Site –Join the guided tour, taking in what life might have been like on the 1800’s at this once infamous Penal
Colony. After the tour, take the time to wander through some of the restored remains and take the Isle of the Dead cruise to
where the convicts and civilians were buried.
Historic Richmond – where time seems to have stood still, galleries and boutiques sell a wide range of quality arts and crafts
and Georgian warehouses now house lovely tearooms and restaurants.
Richmond Gaol - The oldest gaol in Australia, constructed in 1825 and added to in the 1830's. It is an important part of both the
military and police history of Richmond. It was last used in 1928 and has housed many interesting characters. This is the
nations best preserved existing gaol with extensive relic displays.

ATTRACTIONS AROUND HOBART
DAY FIVE
Mt Wellington – A beautiful mountain whether it’s bathed in a rosy glow at dawn, resplendent in the noonday sun or darkly
silhouetted at dusk. From the top you’ll see miles and miles up the Derwent Valley, down to the Southern Ocean and across to
Port Arthur. The inlets, bays, hills and this beautiful city are spread out in a stunning panorama, explained in detail in the lookout
at the summit.
Moorilla Estate - Moorilla Estate is multi faceted, incorporating Moorilla Museum of Antiquities, a Vineyard Restaurant, a Cellar
Door, and 5 star chalet accommodation.
One can walk through the estate’s vineyard, enjoy free wine tasting at the Cellar Door, lunch in the restaurant, and possibly go
fishing from the pontoon near the chalets. The Moorilla Museum highlights the cultural and aesthetic commonality of a number of
ancient cultures. Items on display are chosen with the win criteria of artistic appeal and historical interest. The collection ranges
from an Egyptian sarcophagus to a superb ancient coin collection highlighting the history of coinage.
Also on display are sixteen delightful Roman mosaics, displayed in innovative ways to recreate the original viewing experience.
The collection is housed in the heritage listed former home of Claudio Alcorso, the founder of Moorilla Estate.
Cadbury Chocolate Factory -As with so many things, fresh is best for chocolate, and you wont sample any fresher than on a tour
through the Cadbury factory established in 1921. Free samples of Roses chocolates and the famous glass-and-a-half of milk
chocolate blocks can be nibbled along the way, and then the tour ends at the factory shop, where the whole range of Cadbury
products, not just those made at Claremont, is available. (Factory closures may apply
Battery Point - Stroll through Battery Point, settled very early, the address of grand mansions and mariners cottages and boat
yards. Today, there are many restaurants, colonial accommodation, galleries and boutiques in Battery Point, and it is one of
Hobart’s most desirable addresses
Cascade Brewery - The most famous facade in Hobart with Mt Wellington looming behind. The brewery was established in 1824
which makes it the oldest in Australia , still producing premium beers from Tasmanian hops and barley and the pure water from

HOBART – CRADLE MT
DAY SIX
Travel to Cradle Mountain via the Heritage Highway, which follows the routes, pioneered in 1807. Ross – The historic township of
Ross is in the heart of the world’s best superfine wool growing area. A beautiful old town it has a fine collection of Georgian
Cottages and a fascinating Sandstone Bridge carved by a convict in 1836.
Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre - Located just inside the national park entrance, this centre provides visitors with a wide range of
services that includes informative displays, an art gallery, videos and reference books of the features of the park. Information
officers also offer advice on things to do.
DEVONPORT/MELBOURNE
DAY SEVEN
Cradle Mt National Park – undertake a short walk in a place that Sir Edmund Hilary once described as one of the most precious
places on the planet. Marvel at the silence as you walk around Dove Lake beneath the towering spires of Cradle Mountain.
Depart Devonport.
